Bubbler
This is where the water comes from
blah, blah, blah...
Cooling System
The cooling system consists of a few different components. There is a compressor, a condenser, a fan, and a thermostat. The thermostat (which is adjustable) senses the temperature of the water and turns the cooling system on when the water gets too warm. The cooling system (which is similar to a refrigerator cooling system) then cools the water.
Drain System
Water that is not consumed by the user will flow thru a hole in the basin. From there it will pass thru the drain pipe, into the p-trap, and into the buildings waste piping system.
Water Regulator Valve
The regulator valve controls how much water flows. The regulator is adjustable so you can control the height of the water stream out of the bubbler. Once the regulator is set to the desired water flow it will provide the same water stream for every user. There are many variations of this valve. It may be built into the on/off valve, or it may be a separate part.
Water Control Valve (On/Off)
The valve is activated when the user pushes the push bar or button. This valve will open and allow water to flow out of the bubbler. There are many different variations of this valve (push, twist, solenoid) but they all serve the same purpose which is to turn the water on and off.
Fan
Part of the cooling system. It blows air over the condenser.
Push Bar
When you push the bar it activates the water flow.
Drain
Water flows thru the drain to the buildings waste plumbing pipes.
Bubbler
The water stream flows out of the bubbler.
Basin
The basin is the top of the drinking fountain. Water that isn't consumed by the user flows down the basin to the drain.
Condenser
The condenser is part of the cooling system.
Valve
The valve is the water on/off control. It may also function as the regulator.
Solenoid
Not all units have a solenoid valve. If there is a solenoid valve it is the water on/off control.
Valve
The valve is the water on/off control. It may also function as the regulator.
Compressor
The compressor is part of the cooling system.
Thermostat
The thermostat controls the temperature of the water. It can be adjusted with a screwdriver.
Evaporator
The evaporator is part of the cooling system.

Water won't shut off
There is most likely a problem with your on / off valve. This valve could be a solenoid valve, valve stem, or cartridge. If you know what your valve looks like you can view pictures of common parts. If you don't know what it looks like, you will need your model number to view the parts breakdown.

Water is warm
There is a problem with your cooling system. The first thing to try is to adjust your thermostat. If that doesn't work you can replace the thermostat. If that doesn't work it is recommended that you get an appliance refrigeration technician (if they can repair a refrigerator they can repair a drinking fountain) to look at you system. It may be low on refrigerant or have other defective components. If you do have refrigeration system issues it is often more cost effective to replace the entire drinking fountain as the components and labor will likely cost as much as a new drinking fountain.
Water is leaking from the unit
The leak could come from a number of different sources. The best way to find the leak is to dry everything and look for the spot where the water is coming from.
Water tastes bad
Sometimes when a drinking fountain doesn't get used often it will need to be flushed. Simply let the water flow for 5-10 minutes, or until the water improves. If the water supply to the unit is the problem you will need to install a filter.
